Serving the Underserved

At Spare, our passions lie in making an impact in the lives of the underserviced in our communities, by enabling public transit agencies to deploy mobility services that rival the cost and convenience of driving a car. Since launching, we have empowered our transit agency partners to deliver roughly 10 million trips, traveling 90 million kilometers in the process.

The Ripple Effect of Equitable Transit

We're excited to present our 2023 Impact Report, detailing the significant outcomes we've achieved alongside our partners. Our impact begins with each individual rider and the transit agencies that serve them. From there, it ripples out to influence society as a whole.

Explore some of our highlights:

• Rider impact - Spare's on-demand services are crucial for people with disabilities, who constitute 30% of ridership. This is significant given that people with disabilities are 50% less likely to use local transit.

• Transit agency impact - In 2023, our microtransit and ADA paratransit services saw a 42% and 25% reduction (respectively) in cost per trip.

• Societal impact - The on-demand transportation for seniors offered by Spare is not only about mobility but also has a significant economic impact, saving an estimated $101 million in healthcare costs, which translates to about $80 saved per senior trip.
